Gov. Justice, WV energy industry leaders to hold joint press conference to discuss Bloomberg’s attack on West Virginians

Gov. Jim Justice and leaders from West Virginia’s diverse energy industry will come together on Monday at the State Capitol in Charleston to hold a joint press conference, denouncing former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s recent announcement that he plans to pledge $500 million towards the Beyond Carbon initiative, a campaign in partnership with the Sierra Club, to close all of America’s coal-fired power plants and to stop the construction of natural gas power plants.

WHO: Gov. Justice, along with leaders from the West Virginia Coal Association, AEP, Dominion Power, the West Virginia Oil and Natural Gas Association, the West Virginia Independent Oil and Gas Association, and the West Virginia Business and Industry Council.

WHAT: Press conference to make announcement in response to former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s war on coal and attack on West Virginian workers.

WHEN: Monday, June 10, 2019 at 1 p.m.
