Governor Tomblin Appoints Individuals to College and University Board of Governors

Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin today appointed fifteen individuals to serve on the board of governors for five colleges and universities in West Virginia. The appointments are effective immediately.

“Our colleges and universities unlock the potential of our people by providing students with the knowledge and skills necessary to achieve greatness,” Gov. Tomblin said. “As members of the boards of governors, these individuals have agreed to lend their experience and expertise to guide our institutions of higher learning and prepare tomorrow’s leaders.”

Gov. Tomblin appointed the following individuals to the Bluefield State College board of governors:

  • Robert Topping, Princeton
  • Richard Bezjak, Bluefield
  • Harold Wells, Bluefield

Gov. Tomblin appointed the following individuals to the Fairmont State University board of governors:

  • Dixie Yann, Fairmont
  • Bryan Towns, Fairmont
  • John Shirippa, Bridgeport

Gov. Tomblin appointed the following individuals to the Glenville State College board of governors:

  • Timothy Butcher, Glenville
  • Paul “Mike” Fulks, Bridgeport
  • Mike Forbes, Charleston

Gov. Tomblin appointed the following individuals to the West Liberty University board of governors:

  • George Couch, Wheeling
  • Sandra Chapman, Wheeling
  • Joe Carey, New York, NY

Gov. Tomblin appointed the following individuals to the West Virginia State University board of governors:

  • Dr. Ann Brothers Smith, Detroit, Michigan
  • Tom Susman, Charleston
  • Paul Konstanty, Charleston
