Hill & Hollow Restaurant will be the host of the next Morgantown Social NetworX on Thursday, April 14, 5:30-8 p.m.

A new concept from Marion Ohlinger, executive chef, and his wife, Alegria, Hill & Hollow is one of West Virginia’s most progressive restaurants, specializing in creating global cuisine from locally grown ingredients and elevating Appalachian cuisine with world flavors. The Ohlingers are legendary in opening unique restaurants like Richwood Grill, West Virginia’s first fully farm-to-table restaurant, which opened in 2009 and features the Appalachian Global Dinner Series, a boundary-pushing exploration of Appalachia’s role in global culinary culture, and Solera, West Virginia’s first Latin American/Spanish restaurant, which introduced the concept of molecular gastronomy and the state’s first ceviche bar in 2005.

Hill & Hollow is dedicated to the essential concept of sustainable agriculture and the belief that natural ingredients simply taste better. The menu is seasonally designed and reflects the freshest items Appalachia has to offer, a tribute to West Virginia’s cultural and agricultural diversity. Located in the historic Seneca Center in downtown Morgantown, Hill & Hollow features a full craft cocktail bar, a wide-ranging wine and craft beer collection and a comfortably classic speakeasy vibe.

“Hill & Hollow focuses on globally inspired farm-to-table cuisine with a deeper emphasis on our cultural roots and indigenous wild ingredients,” says Marion, who was voted West Virginia’s Best Chef in 2015 and included in the inaugural edition of America’s Best Chefs in 2013. “We source almost everything locally with a focus on Appalachian cuisine and culture. Our motto is bringing the world to West Virginia and bringing West Virginia to the world.”
