Inspiring WV, a 501(C)3 nonprofit located in Buckhannon, West Virginia, is excited to announce a unique dining experience and fundraiser called Once in a Blue Moon.

Once in a Blue Moon is planned for Aug. 1, 2015 on Allegheny Mountain between Harman and Seneca Rocks.  The dinner will feature an all West Virginia farm to table meal prepared by local chefs of ribeye steak, mashed potatoes, green beans, salad, hot rolls and desserts. Guests may begin arriving at 6 p.m. with dinner starting at 7 p.m.

Entertainment will be provided by guitarist Russ Ruppert of Bridgeport. After dinner, attendees will hear from a special guest speaker.

The location of the outdoor fundraiser is on top of Allegheny Mountain near the famous Red Harper Country Store Barn off U.S. Rt. 33 on the historic Harper Farm.  Following the dinner, guests will enjoy a spectacular view of the full moon as it rises over the Potomac Highlands and are welcome to stay until 11 p.m. The theme Once in a Blue Moon will celebrate the second full moon of July, which occurs on July 31.

Tickets for the dinner are $100 each and can be reserved by calling 304-588-5200.

Inspiring WV encourages middle school students to consider entrepreneurship as a career option. We also provide career education about occupations that students may not realize exist in West Virginia.  Our goal is to keep West Virginia students in the Mountain State after graduation, creating businesses, starting careers, raising families, buying homes, supporting their communities and contributing to the tax base of West Virginia.

Funds raised from Once in a Blue Moon will support Inspiring WV programs in 12 counties in north central West Virginia. For more information about Inspiring WV, visit www.inspiringwv.org.

  1. The blue moon rising is on Friday July 31. Two full moons in one month makes this one coming a blue moon. Your even is on August 1..so how can we see the blue moon?
