Judy Named to Lead D&E Physical Plant Operations

Allen D. “Dan” Judy has been appointed director of physical plant at Davis & Elkins College. In this position he will oversee the planning, organizing, coordinating, directing and controlling of all physical plant operations for the 22 major buildings on the 170-acre campus.

Judy is currently working a transitional phase with retiring director of physical plant, Ron Selders.

“I am fortunate to have the opportunity to work with this team of professionals to support the mission of the College and I am very excited for the future at D&E,” Judy says.

A resident of Philippi, Judy brings to D&E more than 20 years of experience in managing physical plant operations.

Most recently, Judy served as the district manager for education overseeing the plant operations and maintenance for multiple locations throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Midwest regions. Prior to that, he was employed by Sodexo serving in various capacities including the national position of senior area support manager for education – plant operations and maintenance from 2011 to 2012; general manager/director of physical plant at Mountain State University in Beckley, W.Va., from 2006 to 2011; and general manager/director of physical plant at Wilberforce University in Wilberforce, Ohio, from 2005 to 2006. He also worked as the director of physical plant at Alderson-Broaddus College in Philippi, W.Va., from 1990 to 2005.

Judy is a graduate of APPA Institute for Facility Managers and Disney Institute for Management, and completed machinery maintenance at Arch A. Moore Vocational Technical School. He served as district safety coordinator/Council for Diversity for Sodexo and president of West Virginia Association of Physical Plant Administrators. In addition, he holds a license as a master electrician and is a certified inspector.
