Kanawha Valley residents who are 50 or older and unemployed are invited to attend a BACK TO WORK 50+ Information Session on Wednesday, April 2nd, from 9 – 11:00 a.m. The event is hosted by Kanawha Valley Community and Technical College, 2001 Union Carbide Drive, South Charleston in Room 006.
Attendees will learn about effective job search strategies for people over 50, receive a listing of local job search resources, and meet with community organizations that provide job search help and employment resources. The session will highlight in-demand jobs like medical assistant and front office staff.  Job candidates will learn about a Coaching Program where they will learn about strategies for creating impressive personal marketing tools, for successfully completing job applications and job interviews, and options for local networking and job skills training. Attendees may sign up to participate in small group and one-on-one personal coaching as well as AARP Foundation Finances 50+ sessions. Refreshments will be provided.
