Originally from Denver, CO, Kevin Eagan, chief marketing officer for Peoples Bank, has been following in his father’s footsteps for as long as he can remember. From admiring his hard work at an early age to changing his career path to mirror his, Eagan has always wanted to make his father proud.

“My dad was my role model. He showed me that by working hard and taking chances, you can provide a better life for your family,” he says.

After graduating from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Eagan’s first professional job was as a technical analyst for Capital One in Richmond, VA. During his time there, Eagan realized he wanted to be in marketing instead of operations, and he started off on his track to success.

“It was there I learned that by having curiosity and bringing energy every day, I was able to differentiate myself from my peers. I liked to ask questions and proactively asked to do more to show that I wanted to excel,” he says.

With positivity, high energy and intellectual curiosity, Eagan has made his way up the ranks to head of marketing for Peoples Bank, which is headquartered in Marietta, Ohio, with over 30 locations in West Virginia.

“What I love most about this role is interacting with associates across our footprint, learning about them and working together to bring ideas to life to differentiate Peoples Bank from the competition,” he says.

Community service is an important part of Eagan’s life, and he is honored to be able to give his time and talent back to his community through his employer. As vice chairperson and grants coordinator for Peoples Bank Foundation, Eagan oversaw the foundation donate $750,000 in 2020.

“I really enjoy giving back to organizations in the communities we serve and getting to see the impact we made in person, which is truly living proof of what makes Peoples Bank different,” he says.

Outside of his professional community service endeavors, Eagan serves in the following capacities: treasurer for Hunger Solutions Mid-Ohio Valley, bingo caller for St. Mary’s Catholic School, volunteer soccer and basketball coach and frequent blood donor for the American Red Cross. He became an advocate for donating blood 10 years ago when his daughter received a blood transfusion the day after she was born.

“So many people could use a little support, and I believe you should help if you are able to,” Eagan says. “Since I have been blessed throughout my life, I feel as if it is my duty to be able to pay it forward.”

Even though Eagan has seen many achievements in his professional life, he believes his greatest accomplishment has come from his personal life—his kids.

“I have two kids. My son is 13 years old, and my daughter is 10 years old,” he says. “They both get great grades and make me very proud to be their father every single day.”

Eagan has only lived and worked in West Virginia for the past three and a half years, but the people and the scenery truly make this state feel like home to him. It was by a stroke of luck he ended up in the Mountain State, and it is something he doesn’t take for granted.

“When I received the amazing opportunity to be a part of Peoples Bank, I moved the family from Leesburg, VA, to Williamstown,” he says. “I really loved the town and the people of Williamstown. Nearby, the town of Vienna also has such a warm and welcoming community vibe. To me, it is ironic that I grew up in Denver and John Denver said, ‘Almost Heaven, West Virginia … take me home to the place I belong,’ since I believe fate brought me here.”
