Laparoscopic Surgery Topic of Community Seminar

West Virginia University Hospitals-East and the WVU Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center Eastern Division will sponsor a community mini-medical school program titled Everything You Need To Know About Laparoscopic Surgery.

The seminar will be held on Tuesday, January 15 in the WVU Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center on the City Hospital campus. The featured speakers are Wesley Harris, MD and John Thomas, MD, both general surgeons at WVUH-East. They will be discussing the latest techniques in gallbladder, colon and other common surgeries.

Harris is an assistant professor with the WVU School of Medicine and is a member of the medical staff at Jefferson Memorial Hospital practicing at University Medical and Surgical Associates in Ranson. Thomas is an assistant professor with the WVU School of Medicine and member of the medical staff at City Hospital practicing at University Surgical Associates in Martinsburg.

Sign-in for the community mini-medical school program begins at 6:30 pm, with the program to follow from 7 – 8 pm. Light refreshments will be served at the conclusion of the program.
