Leadership Monongalia is searching for the next group of community leaders. A recognized program of the Morgantown Area Partnership, the program seeks talented candidates who demonstrate commitment to the community and passion for leadership. Professionals who want to enhance their own leadership skills and personal network are encouraged to apply.

Presented this year by Mylan, Inc., the program spans eight months and includes leadership sessions from September through April. Each educational session typically includes a full-Thursday commitment monthly and an occasional evening commitment. All sessions will be conducted locally in Monongalia County, except for a Tri-County session which rotates between Monongalia, Harrison and Marion counties.

One of the unique aspects of the program is the involvement of its alumni. Program graduates help by developing sessions and form a supportive network of leaders.  Sharing their talents and abilities with the new class inspires others and fosters a new spirit of energy, enthusiasm and vitality throughout the county.

“We are delighted to have Mylan, Inc. demonstrate its commitment to leadership development as our presenting sponsor.” Russ Rogerson, President & CEO of the Morgantown Area Partnership. “We are also pleased to welcome Amber Wotring and Michelle Hopkins as the new co-chairs of Leadership Monongalia.

Rogerson anticipates a competitive round of applications, with last year’s applications well exceeding the program’s 20-person capacity.  To help applicants put their best foot forward, Generation Morgantown will host an application session on Sunday, June 23.

The Leadership Monongalia program was established in 1997 by the Morgantown Area Chamber of Commerce to identify, develop, and sustain community leaders in Monongalia County. This year, Leadership Monongalia moves under the Morgantown Area Partnership and is presented by Mylan, Inc.
