Marshall University’s Office of Student Activities and Campus Activities Board will host an all-day music festival on Saturday, April 25, at the Ritter Park Amphitheater.

Marshall University FEST is a reinvention and modernization of Spring Fest, which Marshall University hosted during the late 1980s and early 1990s. This recent revitalization will feature artists from across the country including The Ying Yang Twins and American Idol’s Blake Lewis, among many others.

“We realize the eclectic tastes in music among Marshall students, and we hope to reflect that in our artist selections for FEST,” said Lee Tabor, coordinator of student activities.  “Not only do we have genres represented from rap to country and pop to rock, but we also have artists from coast to coast and even from Marshall University and the Huntington area.”

Doors open at 10 a.m. and FEST will kick off at 10:30 a.m. and go until midnight.

There will be food, beverage and alcohol vendors at the festival. Parking at the venue is limited to those needing handicapped accessibility.

“Guest satisfaction and event safety are two of our main priorities. Therefore, we will be providing a shuttle bus to transport students and community members safely between the Ritter Park Amphitheater, Pullman Square, and the Joan C. Edwards Stadium parking lot,” said Sarah Dyke, graduate adviser to the office of student activities.

Tickets go on sale for Marshall students at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 1, and for the general public Monday, April 6. Tickets can be purchased at the Joan C. Edwards Playhouse box office or through ticketmaster.com.

VIP admission tickets are $35, and general admission tickets are $20 for students, faculty and staff with a valid Marshall ID. For the community, VIP admission tickets are $50, and general admission tickets are $35.
