For the second year, Marshall University is showing its support of U.S. veterans by participating in the Greenlight a Vet campaign. Beginning Monday, Nov. 7, the spotlights on the university’s brick sign outside of Old Main will turn green. These lights will stay green throughout the remainder of November.

Participating in the Greenlight campaign is a point of pride for the Marshall community, said Tony Crislip, associate director of the university’s Physical Plant.

“I think it’s great that Marshall chooses to honor our service men and women in this way,” Crislip said. “Veterans deserve to be honored year-round – a lot of what they do for our country is behind the scenes and goes unspoken, but they have fought to protect our rights. We will continue to recognize them in this way every year.”

Marshall University encourages members of the community to join it by changing one light to green at their offices or homes in honor of the men and women who have served our country. Share your support by taking a picture of your green light and posting it using the hashtag #greenlightavet.
