Martin & Seibert, L.C. Attorney, Christopher Moore, was a featured presenter at the National Business Institute’s “Collection Law From Start to Finish” seminar held in Charleston, West Virginia on June 17, 2014.  The NBI-sponsored continuing legal education program covered a wide range of legal topics affecting the credit and collection industries, including pre-suit collections strategies, bankruptcy, and compliance with consumer protection statutes.  Mr. Moore’s presentation focused on legal remedies available to creditors whose claims have been rendered to judgment, with an emphasis placed on the various post-judgment writs and attachments provided by the West Virginia Code.

The well-attended conference included attendees from the legal, banking, and small and large business communities and was recorded for individuals unable to attend.  In addition to Mr. Moore’s collections, commercial law, and bankruptcy practice, he also consults on statutory compliance issues related to the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Truth in Lending Act, and West Virginia Consumer Credit and Protection Act.  If you are interested in learning more about the NBI Collection Law from Start to Finish seminar, or are in need of legal representation or consultation in the collections, creditor’s rights, bankruptcy, or financial services litigation fields, contact Christopher Moore at crmoore@martinandseibert.com.
