Medexpress Ceo Frank Alderman Named Ernst & Young 2012 Health Care Entrepreneur Of The Year

Ernst & Young LLP announced that Frank W. Alderman, MD, CEO MedExpress Urgent Care, was named the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2012 Award winner in the health care category for Western Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

The award recognizes outstanding entrepreneurs who demonstrate excellence and extraordinary success in such areas as innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities. Dr. Alderman was selected by an independent panel of judges, and the award was presented at a special gala on June 22, at the Wyndham Grand Downtown Pittsburgh Hotel.

MedExpress is a leading provider of urgent care with more than 75 centers in West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia and Florida.

Dr. Alderman holds both a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy, and a medical degree from West Virginia University.  He completed his residency at WVU and is board certified in emergency medicine. Dr. Alderman is a member of the American Medical Association and the American College of Emergency Physicians.

A native of West Virginia and the youngest of six children, Dr. Alderman grew up in the beautiful Greenbrier Valley. He credits living near The Greenbrier Hotel, a world-famous resort where guest service is paramount, for inspiring his obsession with exceeding patient expectations at MedExpress. His leadership and unwavering focus on flawless execution are the driving force of the entire management team. Today, Dr. Alderman is primarily responsible for the company’s business development plan, execution of the Company’s strategic plan, and expansion oversight.

Now in its 26th year, the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year Program has honored the inspirational leadership of such entrepreneurs as Jeff Bezos of Amazon.com, Michael Dell of Dell Inc., Herb Kelleher of Southwest Airlines, Fred Smith of FedEx, Larry Page and Sergey Brin of Google, Richard Schulze of Best Buy, Andrew Mason of Groupon, Mindy Grossman of HSN, Inc., Reid Hoffman and Jeff Weiner of LinkedIn, and many more.

Dr. Alderman is now eligible for consideration for the National Entrepreneur Of The Year 2012 Award. Award winners in several national categories, as well as the National Entrepreneur Of The Year Overall Award winner, will be announced at the annual awards gala in Palm Springs, California, on November 17, 2012. The awards are the culminating event of the Ernst & Young Strategic Growth Forum, the nation’s most prestigious gathering of high-growth, market-leading companies.
