On March 27, 2018, Laura Gray of Morgantown will be recognized by Justice, the #1 destination for all things tween girls, during its first ever “Live Justice Awards,” a one-night event celebrating the unstoppable power of girls. The awards will honor six remarkable girls who are making a difference, inspiring others, and boldly pursuing their dreams. The Live Justice Awards are part of a campaign to bring awareness to their philanthropic partner, Girls on the Run, and are awarded to girls who embody the Live Justice and Girls on the Run values.

The ‘Live Justice Values’ are: Live Active, Live Connected, Live Together, Live Smart, Live Positive, and Live Creative. These values directly correlate to Girls on the Run’s dedication to provide physical activity-based, positive youth development (PA-PYD) programs that inspire girls to be healthy, joyful and confident.

Laura participated in Girls on the Run (GOTR) in 3rd-5th grades, and now as a 6th grader is in Girls on the Run’s middle school program, Heart & Sole, at South Middle School. She was nominated by her local Girls on the Run council and selected by Justice because she embodies what it means to Live Justice – defining herself on her own terms while boldly pursuing her dreams. Laura has a prosthetic leg, but she does not let that stop her from running or doing any other activities typical of girls her age. “Laura’s positive outlook and drive to do her best is an inspiration to all those around her,” said Laurie Abildso, Executive Director of Girls on the Run of North Central West Virginia.

“Laura is proud to be seen as inspiration to girls everywhere,” said Sandy Gray, Laura’s mother and a GOTR Coach. “And we are grateful for Girls on the Run of North Central West Virginia for helping boost her confidence more each year.”

The Live Justice Awards will take place on Tuesday, March 27 in Los Angeles and will stream live at 8 p.m. EST/5 p.m. PST on the Justice YouTube channel. The event will be hosted by Madison Hu and Michael Campion and feature a full lineup of popular performers, including Sophia Grace, Angelic and Noah Schnacky. There will also be special appearances by Mackenzie Ziegler, The Gem Sisters and many more. However, the real stars of the night will be an amazing group of six stand-out girls who are truly changing the world.
