Morgantown Area Chamber of Commerce today launched the Morgantown Area Chamber of Commerce Health Plans, insured by UnitedHealthcare. This health plan portfolio was developed under the Association Health Plan (AHP) rules approved earlier this year by the U.S. Department of Labor.

“The Morgantown Area Chamber of Commerce is delighted and proud to offer its members this unique opportunity to provide their employees with group-rate health insurance coverage. This new and important benefit is available only to qualifying Chamber members and adds considerable new value to being a member of the Morgantown Area Chamber of Commerce,” said Steve LaCagnin, MACOC President and CEO.

Employers may see lower health care costs from a portfolio of plans that may not always be available to small businesses through a shared-risk pool. They will be able to choose from a variety of health plans from UnitedHealthcare. Members also will have access to UnitedHealthcare’s care provider network of more than 1.2 million physicians and care professionals, and 6,500 hospitals and other care facilities nationwide.

The chamber, which serves more than 450 local businesses in the Greater Morgantown Area and beyond, is quoting these plans for eligible member groups for a Feb. 1, 2019, or later enrollment date. To be eligible for coverage under these plans, businesses must have 2-50 employees and be members of the Morgantown Area Chamber of Commerce.

“We look forward to working with the Morgantown Area Chamber of Commerce to help its members provide their employees and families access to affordable, quality health care coverage,” said Chris Mullins, CEO, UnitedHealthcare of the Mid-Atlantic.
