Myers-Smith Appointed by Gov. Tomblin to WV Tourism Commission

WV Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin has appointed Peggy Myers-Smith to the West Virginia Tourism Commission. Myers-Smith, President/CEO of the Greater Morgantown Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB), will represent all West Virginia CVBs on the Commission. The private-public board serves as a board of directors for the WV Division of Tourism.

Myers-Smith, a certified Tourism Marketing Professional, currently serves on the national Board of Directors of the Southeast Tourism Society (STS) and was appointed Vice Chair for West Virginia with STS in 2012.   In addition, she serves on the Strategic Planning Committee for STS.

Locally, she is on the Board of Directors for the Morgantown Area Chamber of Commerce, Main Street Morgantown, Sundale Rehabilitation & Long Term Care, Morgantown Municipal Airport Advisory Committee and served on the inaugural Sister Cities Commission for the City of Morgantown.

In 2012, Myers-Smith was appointed to the WVU B&E Hospitality Advisors Board and their Marketing Committee for this newly formed degree program in Hospitality & Tourism.
