Non-profits and community groups that want to apply for the FY 2019 Neighborhood Investment Program (NIP) tax credit voucher program must attend one workshop.  The workshops dates and location are:

May 9th, Wednesday, at Holiday Inn & Suites Charleston, 400 2nd Avenue Southwest, South Charleston, WV 25303.

May 15th, Tuesday, at Lakeview Golf Resort & Spa, 1 Lakeview Drive, Morgantown, WV 26508.

Registration begins at 12:30 p.m. and the workshop begins promptly at 1:00 p.m.  Applicants must register by May 7 for the Charleston, WV workshop and May 13 for the Morgantown, WV workshop. The workshops will explain the benefits of the NIP program and demonstrate how to successfully complete the application and record keeping requirements.

Attending a workshop is MANDATORY to be eligible to apply for NIP tax credits.

Pre-registration at www.WVCAD.org/sustainability/neighborhoodinvestmentprogram, which routes you to Eventbrite, is required by May 7th for Charleston and May 13th for Morgantown.

Application guidelines and instructions will be made available during the workshop and will also be available on-line at www.WVCAD.org/sustainability/neighborhoodinvestmentprogram after both workshops. The deadline to submit a completed NIP application is June 30, 2018 by 5 pm.

The NIP was established by the West Virginia Legislature to encourage investment in local projects benefiting low-income populations or distressed communities. The nonprofit organizations or project sponsors are awarded tax credit vouchers to distribute to donors. Businesses and individual taxpayers that contribute to certified projects can earn credits to reduce certain West Virginia taxes.
