Plainwood Resort Bed and Breakfast opened its doors in the summer of 2013, boasting the title of the only bed and breakfast in Parkersburg, WV.
Located a mile off of interstate 77 on the Staunton Ave/Rt 47 exit, this 3 bedroom bed and breakfast is close enough to the city to enjoy activities but far enough out to enjoy the tranquility of a country setting.
You can enjoy your stay at this historical, WV-themed bed and breakfast by staying in one of their three rooms: the Blennerhassett Suite, which sleeps 4; the Boreman Room, which sleeps 2 and Vandalia room, also for two guests. Each room has its own private bath. The entire inn can accommodate 8 people comfortably. Each window offers a view of the 5 acres and local wildlife. You can enjoy the large back deck overlooking the bonfire pit or enjoy rocking on the quaint front porch. Each morning, guests awaken to a home style breakfast that is included in the price of the room.
Plainwood Resort hopes to host their first wedding in late fall 2013. The property offers brides and grooms the ability to have their ceremony and reception all in one place. The land can accommodate up to 100 people for an outdoor ceremony and reception. There are packages for eloping, intimate ceremonies and ultimate weddings.
The bed and breakfast also boosts a large deck for parties. You may also rent the entire bed and breakfast for your family reunion or event.
The bed and breakfast was opened by entrepreneurs Bob and Sheryl Runion of Parkersburg, also owners of New Way Carpet Cleaning, Supermaids and Crawl Space and Basement Solutions. The Runions bought and renovated a home into the bed and breakfast in the spring of 2013, during which time they could not wait to share the home’s tranquility with others.
