North Bend State Park Rangers and Guides provide instruction on some of today’s more popular outdoor recreation pursuits.  During these weekends we are offering these lessons in an affordable group lesion format.  Along with skill development we will also be offering environmental appreciation/education sessions.

Registration:  You are welcome to register at the lodge front desk in person or by phone at (304) 643-2913 for the class/classes of your choice.  Registration is open until the day before the class is scheduled to be given.

June 4th 

Kayaking

Kayak Basics: A 2 hour excursions designed to introduce and improve basic flat water skills and enjoying the natural environment North Bend State Park has to offer from a different perspective.  This quest includes safety information, balance and basic paddle strokes and all the required equipment.

$30.00 per person  –   Saturday at 6pm.   –   Meet at the Cokeley Boathouse   –  Equipment included

Mountain Biking

Mountain Biking basics and skills: this 4 hour session includes instruction on maintenance, adjusting your bikes fit, peddling cadence, how to get the most out of your gears, controlling your speed (not too fast but not too slow either), balance, the ready position, and simple obstacles.  Then we’ll hit one of the park’s trails to work on breaking techniques, cornering, handling terrain, picking lines and putting it all together and making it flow like surfing through the woods.

$30.00 per person  –  Saturday 9:00am –   Meet at Basecamp   –  Bring something for lunch

Combine any two classes and get $10.00 off your second class
