Pendleton County Leads State in New Business Registrations for December 2019

For the second consecutive month, Pendleton County led West Virginia in new business registration growth percentage for December 2019. A total of 12 new businesses registered to operate in the County during the month, according to West Virginia Secretary of State Mac Warner.

The number of registered business entities in Pendleton County grew from 310 to 322, which equates to a 3.87 percent increase. The Secretary of State’s Business & Licensing Division reported that Summers, Clay, Taylor and Mercer counties also had notable growth in December.

The number of business entities in Summers County grew from 357 to 366, with Clay County business entities increasing from 166 to 170. Taylor County experienced an increase in new business registrations from 364 to 372, and Mercer County went from 1,570 to 1,604 for the month.

Statewide, West Virginia saw a 9.83 percent growth in business registrations in 2019. The increase in those 12 months was led by Summers County with 20.13 percent growth.
