Persons interested in learning more about the Lap-Band procedure being performed at City Hospital, a member of WVU Hospitals-East, are invited to attend a free presentation on Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at 6:30 p.m. in the Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center, located on the City Hospital campus.
Dr. Robert E. Cicchino, Jr., from University Surgical Associates, will provide an overview of the Lap-Band procedure, explain the pros and cons of the system, and participants will have an opportunity to ask their questions.
The Lap-Band Adjustable gastric banding system is the first FDA approved procedure for use in weight reduction for patients whose weight is affecting their health. Under the direction of Cicchino, City Hospital began offering the procedure to the community in 2011.
As setting is limited, reservations for this free presentation are required and may be made by calling University Surgical Associates at 304-596-6900 no later than Monday, September 17, 2012.
