Pam Gesford, RN, was recently named City Hospital’s Quality Service Award winner for May 2012.

Each month, the hospital’s Service Award Committee selects an employee to receive the Quality Service Award. Gesford, an outpatient diabetes nurse educator, was nominated for assisting a co-worker in need of gestational diabetes education that was not covered by insurance.

“Pam has always given her best to whatever role she has served since joining City Hospital in 1980,” stated a co-worked on the nomination form. “She is well known is this community for the many acts of kindness and generosity she shares, as well as her amazing knowledge of diabetes.”

Criteria for selection as a Quality Service Award recipient includes: demonstrating a consistently high level of productivity and quality of work along with a high degree of initiative in performing work responsibilities, displaying exceptional dependability, exhibiting effective relationships with others, displaying a commitment to service and serving the City Hospital community, and meeting the criteria for the WVUH-East mission, vision and values.

Nomination forms for the Quality Service Award are available at locations throughout the City Hospital campus. Anyone who witnesses an employee displaying outstanding service is encouraged to complete and submit a nomination form.
