Roberta Linger Named Vice President of Finance and Administration

West Liberty University has named Roberta Linger as its new vice president of Finance and Administration.

“I am pleased to welcome Roberta to her new position. The financial aspects of the university have never been more important and I am confident that she is well prepared for this role. I look forward to working with her as she shares her expertise and insight with the entire campus,” said President Stephen Greiner.

Linger will oversee the Business Office, Information Technology and the Physical Plant (maintenance). Her office is in Shaw Hall.

A former resident of Morgantown, W.Va., Linger most recently held the position of director of Human Resources Information Projects at West Virginia University (WVU), where she led strategic planning initiatives to increase efficiency and effectiveness within the Division of Human Resources.

Prior to that she was the chief business planning officer for WVU’s Health Sciences Center where she was responsible for the efforts of staff in the preparation, evaluation and monitoring of the $200 million operating budget and the capital budgets for five schools, two regional campuses and the internal support units of the center including facilities and information technology.

Before that Linger was the deputy director of Finance/CFO for WVNET, where she directed and led all financial aspects and activities of the telecommunications and computing service organization for West Virginia’s colleges and universities, headquartered in Morgantown.

Linger is a Certified Public Accountant and previously earned a bachelor’s degree in medical technology at WVU. She also earned an MBA at West Virginia Wesleyan College and holds a graduate certificate in forensic accounting and fraud investigation from WVU.

She is a native of Weston, W.Va.
