Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern West Virginia will provide temporary housing to displaced families as a result of Hurricane Florence. Lodging, meals, clothing, and all basic necessities are available for a limited number of families.
“We serve families during moments of crisis, and this is no different,” said Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern West Virginia’s Executive Director, Dewayne Dickens. “We have the resources to open up our House to serve families displaced by the hurricane and provide them with the comforts of home in a safe environment.”
In addition to providing displaced families with lodging, Ronald McDonald House Charities is also partnering with local resident, Mark Boggs, to be a donation drop-off site for supplies that will be transported to cities affected by the hurricane. The team partnered last year to aid families in Texas after Hurricane Harvey. Volunteers are already in place to organize a donation that will be sent from the House. Members from the community can drop off donations daily between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m.
