The U.S. Small Business Administration’s West Virginia District Office, U.S. Department of Agriculture, U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development and SCORE will host a free Small Business-Lender Match Maker Forum event Thursday, September 10, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. at West Virginia State University in the James C. Wilson University Union.

Participants will receive one-on-one meetings with local lenders to discuss capital opportunities. In addition, resource partners will be available to discuss ways to find capital to expand or start a small business, resources available for expanding sales abroad, assistance offered to improve a business plan and ways to avoid clever business scams.

This is a unique opportunity to learn about financing opportunities with the following invited lender representatives: BB&T, Fifth Third, First State Bank, Huntington Banks, JP Morgan Chase, KISRA Microloan, Natural Capital Investment Fund, Ohio Valley Bank, and resources from Better Business Bureau, Consumer Credit Counseling Service, U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development’s International Division, West Virginia Development Office, U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), SBA International Trade Division, SCORE, Taxpayer Advocate Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Business Service, West Virginia District Export Council, West Virginia Economic Development Authority and the West Virginia Small Business Development Center.

“This is a great opportunity for small businesses to best utilize their time,” states Karen Friel, SBA’s West Virginia district director. “We know small business owners are busy—that is why we are hosting this event to get as many lenders and resources in one place available to answer any questions small business owners may have.”

The James C. Wilson University Union is located at 301 Washington Avenue in Dunbar. There is no cost to attend this event, but registration is required. Visit www.sba.gov/wv to RSVP or contact Leo Lopez at leo.lopez@sba.gov or (304) 347-5220.
