The Small Business Administration is opening two Business Recovery Centers in West Virginia to assist businesses impacted by the severe storms, flooding, landslides and mudslides that recently swept through our state.

The Charleston Area Alliance’s business incubator will be home to the SBA’s Kanawha County Business Recovery Center. The Greenbrier County Recovery Center will be set up at the Greenbrier Valley Economic Development Corporation in Maxwelton.

“It is our honor to be able to work with the Small Business Administration to provide these much-needed resources to our business community,” Charleston Area Alliance President/CEO Matthew Ballard said.

The Alliance is located at 1116 Smith Street, Charleston, West Virginia, 25301. Both Recovery Centers are set to open July 6. The Kanawha County location will operate 8:30 am – 5 pm, and the Greenbrier County location will operate 8 – 5 pm.

“The SBA is committed to facilitating economic recovery in this disaster.  We want area businesses to have a resource where they can meet individually with SBA representatives and find out how a low-interest disaster loan can help them recover,” said Frank Skaggs, director of SBA’s Field Operations Center East in Atlanta.

The SBA offers low-interest, long-terms disaster loans for physical damage and working capital. To be considered for this assistance, survivors need to apply by the deadline.

Additional information on the disaster loan program may be obtained by calling SBA’s Customer Service Center at 800-659-2955 (800-877-8339 for the deaf and hard-of-hearing) or by sending an email to disastercustomerservice@sba.gov.  Loan applications can be downloaded from www.sba.gov.  Applicants may apply online using the Electronic Loan Application (ELA) via SBA’s secure website at https://disasterloan.sba.gov/ela.

The filing deadline to return applications for physical property damage is Aug. 24, 2016.  The deadline to return economic injury applications is March 27, 2017.
