The U.S. Small Business Administration invites you to join in congratulating Action Facilities Management (AFM) CEO and President, Diana Lewis, as the only West Virginia business to be awarded one of the U.S. General Services Administration’s (GSA) Building Maintenance and Operations (BMO) Multiple-Award contracts. The press event takes place Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. at the AFM corporate office in Morgantown.

GSA has awarded 33 contracts for its new Building Maintenance and Operations Zone 1 strategic sourcing solution, of which 24 of the contracts were set aside specifically for small businesses under BMO SB. West Virginia small business AFM, a woman, minority-owned business employing 265 workers, was one of 24 in the U.S. to earn a contract. This multiple award solution gives government agencies a more streamlined process for acquiring facility maintenance and operations services, including electrical maintenance, janitorial, landscaping, fire alarm and suppression system maintenance, commissioning and more. AFM provides total facilities and contracting services such as site management, physical armed and unarmed security and facilities maintenance to their clients.

The BMO solution includes two multiple-award, indefinite-delivery indefinite-quantity (MA-IDIQ) task order contract vehicles with $15 billion ceilings. Awards were made to the highest rated firms offering a fair and reasonable price. BMO and BMO SB offer reduced administrative costs and more flexibility with task orders, improved visibility on spending and pricing and standardized labor categories.

The performance period for all contracts includes a five-year base with one, five-year option.

In order to promote small business participation, the BMO solution used a zoned approach to create a reasonably sized region in which small businesses could realistically compete and operate. These initial Zone 1 awards will service agencies in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia and the District of Columbia. Future areas are expected to be announced later this year.
