As part of National Disaster Preparedness month, the U.S. Small Business Administration’s West Virginia District Office hosts a “Flirting with Disaster” webinar Tuesday, September 13 from 1:30 – 2:15 p.m. EST.

An estimated 25 percent of businesses do not reopen following a major disaster. Sam Payne, West Virginia’s Small Business Development Center disaster specialist, reviews the steps to putting together an effective small business disaster plan.

“West Virginia small businesses, now more than ever after the recent flooding disaster in the southern portion of the state, need to put thought and effort into their disaster plan,” states SBA’s West Virginia District Director, Karen Friel. “Once a disaster happens it is too late, now is the time to plan for the unexpected.”

Small businesses interested in participating in the free training can register at www.wvscore.org.
