Schedule your mammogram. Attend a special event. Walk through a giant set of inflatable human breasts? As Thomas Health System is hosting their first “Mammopalooza” October 14th at Thomas Memorial and 15th at Saint Francis, it brings with it a not-so-little something extra.  In addition to the discounted mammograms and countless events for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, this year’s “MammoPalooza” will feature the much anticipated AmeriBreast exhibit.

The world’s only walk through tour of the human breasts with an emphasis on breast cancer education and prevention, the exhibit is a colorful, interactive tour through the human breasts, breast anatomy and pathology, including:

* Non-cancerous lumps

* Inflammatory breast cancer stages I-IV (IBC)

* Milkducts * BloodVessels * Lymph nodes

As visitors enter the exhibit, they will see 3-D representations of the breast, the pathology and will be able to read brief descriptions placed on placecards throughout the interior. The tour concludes with information about breast self exams and literature about breast health and breast cancer.

“Thomas Health System is very excited to be introducing this exhibit to our community. We know the exhibit will be very informative, and its sheer size and visual impact will bring attention to Breast Cancer Awareness Month,” says Paige Johnson, Director of Marketing and Public Relations for Thomas Health System.
