Mylan Park is ready to share their progress and updates at their upcoming media tours and the grand opening of the Track and Field Complex at the Aquatic and Track Center. Mylan Park- North Central West Virginia’s premier sports, recreation, and events complex- is one of Greater Morgantown Convention and Visitors Bureau (GMCVB)’s tourism partners. The park’s attractions make it a major event-drawing complex for the Mountaineer Country region.

“Not only will our community directly benefit from excellent facilities, but by working together with Mylan Park, the GMCVB will use the facilities to attract and recruit tourism events to continue to increase our regional tourism economy,” said GMCVB Executive Director Susan Riddle.

Since many community members are eager to know the status of the Aquatic Center, Mylan Park management is hosting a media only tour on Wednesday, October 17 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. to tour the facility under construction, share projected completion dates, and answer questions.

The official grand opening of the Track and Field Complex welcomes both media and locals to the center later this month.

On Friday, October 26, Mylan Park management will be hosting the Track and Field Complex formal ribbon cutting ceremony from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. This event is reserved for Mylan Park partners and local media only, and it will include a speech from the management team and an honorary first lap around the track.

Later that evening, everyone is welcomed to participate in the Community Open House at the Track and Field Complex from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Individuals are encouraged to bring their families to enjoy refreshments, live music, giveaways, and be some of the first people to tour the complex.

“We are excited to deliver such a state-of-the-art facility,” said Mylan Park General Manager/Executive Director Keith Hernstrom. “The complex will draw those from Morgantown, and the surrounding regions, who want the best facilities and our goal is to help facilitate the success of everyone who has partnered with us to make it possible.”
