West Virginia Engineer Earns Professional Engineering License for State of California

Allegheny Design Services employee Mike Howell recently earned his professional engineering license for the state of California.

Howell works as the senior structural engineer and Director of Sports and Recreation for ADS. His responsibilities include project management and structural design.  He has extensive engineering experience as a field engineer, a civil engineer and a structural engineer.

”I’m excited for the opportunities that this license will open for ADS to continue to expand its area of business and better serve our clients,” Howell said.

“Mike’s efforts have opened up a large market in California for ADS in the Sports and Recreation Industry,” said David Simpson, ADS President.

ADS Sports and Recreation is targeting the structural needs for stadium and arena scoreboard construction. This has resulted in projects for the new Atlanta Braves Stadium, the New Orleans Pelicans, Sacramento Kings and several University projects across the country.”

Howell graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and graduated from West Virginia University in December 2014 with a master’s of business administration.

The ADS engineers also have their state license in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Washington DC and West Virginia.
