West Virginia State to Host Health Expo and Interpersonal Violence Summit on April 17

West Virginia State University (WVSU) will sponsor a Health Expo and Interpersonal Violence Summit on Tuesday, April 17, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the James C. Wilson University Union.

The event is free and open to the public and will include a resource fair focusing on health services available in the community.  Robert Hackenson with Dynamic Influences will deliver the keynote presentation entitled “Sexual Assault Prevention, Risk Reduction and Bystander Empowerment,” at 12:30 p.m. in room 134 of the University Union.

Additional presentations will include Naloxone (also known as Narcan) training, healthy cooking demonstrations, zumba and yoga demonstrations, archery and fitness testing. Health screenings will also be available.

The Health Expo and Interpersonal Violence Summit is a collaborative effort between the West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission, WVSU Counseling and Accessibility Services, WVSU Cultural Activities, WVSU Health and Human Performance, and the WVSU College of Professional Studies.
