Wild, Wonderful West Virginia, the Charleston Convention & Visitors Bureau and FestivALL Charleston will host their first InstaMeet June 27 during FestivALL 2015 in Charleston, West Virginia beginning at 11 a.m. at Haddad Riverfront Park.
“We are excited to bring the community together to share our love of the Mountain State,” Commissioner of Tourism Amy Shuler Goodwin said. “Through this InstaMeet we can introduce a global audience to Real. West Virginia experiences. Whether you’re looking for Real. Fun, Real. Family Time or Real. Art, you will find it at FestivALL.”
“In Charleston, our brand is ‘Hip, Historic…Almost Heaven.’ This InstaMeet is a chance for people to experience that brand first-hand, then share it with the world,” Vice President of Sales & Marketing for the Charleston Convention & Visitors Bureau Tim Brady said. “FestivALL is a fun and exciting time of year to visit Charleston; we’re looking forward to sharing that with the Instagram community.”
“This will be a great opportunity for visitors to capture the diversity of arts genres in FestivALL and share in the celebration of our city,” Co-Director of FestivALL Brittany Javins said. “We can’t wait to see what people come up with.”
An InstaMeet is an event during which Instagrammers meet up to take photos and videos. Participants at the June 27 event are encouraged to share their Real. FestivALL Fun with #GoToWV_InstaMeet and #RealWV. Photos and videos shared during the InstaMeet may be shared via @GoToWV, @CharlestonWV and @FestivALL_CWV. Per Instagram: Only photos with geo location data will show up on the InstaMeet map. Make sure ‘Add to Photomap’ is selected when posting InstaMeet photos and videos.
Five InstaMeet participants will be selected to receive a Real. Wild, Wonderful West Virginia T-shirt designed by Kin Ship Goods (photo attached). To be considered, Instagrammers must use both #GoToWV_InstaMeet and #RealWV. Winners will be notified via Instagram.
