WV SBDC provides Snapshot of jobs, economic growth in Mountain State

The West Virginia Small Business Development Center (WV SBDC) recently released its June 2018 “Small Business Snapshot” of activities to support the state’s small businesses. The WV SBDC overview recaps innovations, statistics and success stories from the previous six months.

The June 2018 Snapshot reports that WV SBDC helped the state’s small businesses leverage $117 million in capital, a 38 percent increase over the $84 million reported in the June 2017 Snapshot.

“WV SBDC helps connect business owners with capital resources,” said WV SBDC State Director Erika Bailey. “Over the last five years, our 16 business coaches in all 55 counties have assisted with creating 2,502 jobs, retaining 711 jobs and starting 655 new businesses.”

Business coaches in the WV SBDC statewide network provide expert guidance at every stage of the business cycle, including concept, startup, expansion and succession.
