The P.I. Reed School of Journalism’s online graduate program in Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) will offer a series of four online professional development courses this fall to help communicators brush up on the best practices in today’s changing media environment.

“The Importance of Web Analytics and Search Engine Marketing” will be offered Sept. 9 – Oct. 14. Participants will learn tools and techniques for measuring traffic, engagement and impact of online information.

“Event Marketing” will be offered Oct. 14 – Nov. 18. Participants will learn how to plan and execute events within an organization’s marketing mix, as well as specific marketing tactics to help promote events.

Finally, “Higher Education Public Relations” will be offered Nov. 18 – Dec. 16. This course provides an overview of public relations strategies in higher education. Participants will examine best practices, tools and tactics for building the reputation of an institution and managing public relations issues.

Participants can take as many of the courses as they’d like. Each course costs $500, or all four can be taken for $1675.

“These courses are designed to give professionals valuable skills that can be used on the job the very next day,” says school of journalism Online Programs Director Chad Mezera. “As professionals look to stay current in industry practices or wish to learn something new, these courses provide flexible options for a busy life.”
