The board of directors of the West Virginia Grantmakers Association is pleased to announce the appointment of Becky Cain Ceperley as the newest member of its board of directors.
“We are honored to welcome Becky to the WV Grantmakers Board of Directors. Her expertise and commitment to philanthropy, public policy, community leadership, and civic engagement is a welcome addition to the board,” says Tom Tinder, chair of the West Virginia Grantmakers Board of Directors and executive director of the West Virginia Bar Foundation. Tinder adds, “We look forward to Becky’s involvement and contribution to strengthening philanthropy in the Mountain State.”
Ceperley is the president and CEO of The Greater Kanawha Valley Foundation based in Charleston, WV.
She is also a leader at both state and national levels. Her regional involvement includes membership on the Charleston Convention and Visitors Bureau Board of Directors. In addition, she serves on the Steering Committee for the Appalachia Funders Network and the Executive Committee of the Council on Philanthropy. At the state level, Ceperley serves as the chair of the WV Grantmakers Public Policy Committee, chairman of the Vision Shared Board of Directors, and a member of the Board of Advisors of College Summit of West Virginia and Southwest Pennsylvania.
Ceperley is a recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Award from the West Virginia University Political Science Department and the Eberly College of Arts and Science, and has also received Honorary Doctor of Law degrees from Ripon College, WI, and the University of Charleston, WV.
