Dress for Success River Cities’ seventh annual Taste of Independence benefit luncheon will be held on Friday, July 11th, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Big Sandy Superstore Arena Convention Center.

Guests will enjoy a delicious lunch, a runway-inspired style show featuring fashions from White House | Black Market, Soma Intimates, and a chance to bid on many fantastic silent auction items. This year’s event offers the chance to win a Pandora bracelet courtesy of Pollock’s Jewelers of Ashland. Each $20 entry is accompanied with a $25 gift card from Pollock’s Jewelers.

The daytime affair will also include a keynote address from Dress for Success River Cities’ founder and Executive Director for Marshall University’s Center for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning, Dr. Sherri Smith.

“This year’s Taste of Independence is particularly special. Not only is the event in its seventh year, which is all attributable to the loyal support of individuals and businesses in the Huntington and tri-state area, but also our founder, Dr. Sherri Smith, will be giving the keynote address. She’s had such a positive impact on the lives of so many women in the area. We couldn’t be more honored to have her as our guest,” said Christina Ward, Executive Director for Dress for Success River Cities.

Taste of Independence is sponsored by C.I. Thornburg, Co. Inc.; Hess, Stewart & Campbell, PLLC; Marshall University Office of Student Affairs & Office of Student Conduct and Somerville & Company, P.L.L.C.

Individual tickets are $30 and can be purchased by calling 304-522-3011 or visiting www.dressforsuccess.org/rivercities. Table sponsorships are also available. Proceeds benefit the programs of Dress for Success River Cities.
