Local Hotel Employee Honored with National Brand Award

The Hampton Inn Charleston – Southridge, today announced the special recognition of one of its own team members.  David Wade, a houseman at the hotel was recently awarded the Spirit of Hampton Award, which is the Hilton brand’s highest form of brand-specific team member recognition.

“David exemplifies the true spirit of Hampton in everything that he does. His work ethic is second to none and I am honored to have him on our team.” stated Mike Carnemolla at a company-wide meeting at which Wade was surprised with the Award.  In his nomination, Carnemolla wrote, “David has been with the hotel since the days the doors opened and he has been a model employee ever since.”

The Hampton Inn is a 139-room hotel in the Southridge Shopping Centre.  Mr. Wade’s job includes greeting guests, driving shuttles to the airport and area businesses, public space cleanliness and meeting space setup, in addition to other tasks David assists with throughout the day.

“He stood beside me when we opened the hotel and has been a key member of our team from the beginning.  We are excited the Hampton chain has recognized what we have known all along.  Dave exemplifies Hamptonality!” said LeRoy Rashid, the company’s owner.

Winners of the Spirit of Hampton consistently exceed expectations, lives Hamptonality, a term created by the hotel’s brand for exemplary service, and positively impacts guests, the hotel, and the community.  His nomination was full of examples of his willingness to provide quality service and a helping hand whenever needed.

Georgette George, the company’s president praised David stating, “We count on Dave in so many ways.  He has always been a great role model for me and for his team members alike.”
