| Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin today appointed Timothy R. Kinsey to represent the citizens of the 19th District in the West Virginia House of Delegates. Kinsey’s appointment fills the vacancy created when House Speaker Rick Thompson resigned last week to serve as Cabinet Secretary of the West Virginia Department of Veterans Assistance. Kinsey’s appointment is effective immediately.
“A life-long resident of Wayne County, Tim has spent dedicated himself to supporting the community,” Gov. Tomblin said. “As a former banker and current member of with the Wayne County Development Authority, he’s been instrumental in economic development throughout the area, and I know he will continue to do so, now, as a delegate.”
A 1970 graduate of Marshall University and an honors graduate from the School for Bank Administration at the University of Wisconsin. Kinsey worked in the banking industry for 41 years. Before retiring, Kinsey served as President of Lavalette State Bank, and previously as Regional Vice President at United Bank for 17 years.
For more than a decade Kinsey has served on the Wayne County Economic Development Authority and worked on projects including the Beech Fork Lodge project and the Pritchard Intermodal facility. He is active in the community serving on several Boards of Directors including the Southwestern Community Action Council, the Tri-State Area Boy Scouts of America, and Cabell-Huntington Hospital.
The retired banker resides in Lavalette with his wife, Christie. The couple has children two children, T.R. and Andy. |
