SBA Helps Small Businesses “Find the Green” during the Month of March

The month of March is symbolic of St. Patrick’s Day, the color green, and looking for gold at the end of the  rainbow. The U.S. Small Business Administration’s West Virginia District Office wants to help small businesses learn how to be ready and capable to “find the green” by offering multiple free training opportunities to help small businesses receive access to capital and expand, during March.

  • Cracking the Credit Code Webinar
    Thursday, March 5, 2015, 11:30 a.m.
    There is no quick fix to poor credit, but the first step to repair credit is to understand how it works. Cyrstal Kudlak from Apprisen, a consumer credit counseling organization, answers questions about credit reports and scores.
  • Show Me The Money Workshop
    Thursday, March 5, 2015, 6:00 p.m.

    In addition to banks, there are other options for funding your new small business, including microloans, personal loans and owner financing. Join area financing experts as they discuss cost-effective funding sources, how guaranteed loans work, and how to handle setbacks.   • Selling to the Government Webinar
    Thursday, March 12, 2015, 11:30 a.m.
    SBA provides an overview of the basic tools needed to sell your goods or services to the government, including the System for Awards Management, the Federal Procurement Data System, and the Dynamic Small Business Search database.
  • Getting a Bank Loan Webinar
    Thursday, March 26, 2015, 11:30 a.m.
    What are the keys to walking into a bank and walking out with a business loan?  SBAs Leo Lopez, a former loan officer, breaks through the myths and tells you how to make the lender say “yes”.

Karen Friel, SBA’s West Virginia district director states, “One thing that small businesses need to start, grow and succeed is access to capital. I encourage small businesses who want to “find the green” to take advantage of these no-cost training opportunities.”
