Students from a Small Business Management Class at Shepherd University recently donated $655 to the cancer comfort fund at University Healthcare Berkeley Medical Center.

The money was raised as part of a class project.  The four students – Tiffany Banks, Veronica Price, Trae Yates and Ashley Bender – created a business they named Sweets for Teats.  They made desserts and sold them in Jefferson and Berkeley Counties.

With an initial goal of $500, the students were successful in raising $655.  They selected the Cancer Comfort Fund at University Healthcare’s Regional Cancer Program as their charity of choice to receive the proceeds from their business.  The money will be used to assist breast cancer patients.
