Spilman Thomas & Battle, PLLC (Spilman) is pleased to announce that Michael J. Tarutis has joined the firm’s Pittsburgh office. He is a member of the firm’s corporate finance practice group, wherein he focuses on start-up and early-stage firms.

Additionally, Tarutis will represent natural gas and other energy clients in Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) matters, including FERC audits and FERC requests for information and Notices of Proposed Rulemaking (NOPRs). He also will assist natural gas and energy clients in establishing internal compliance programs.

“In addition to Michael’s skills and creativity as a business lawyer, we are particularly excited about his extensive experience appearing before FERC on behalf of clients across the country,” said Ron Schuler, member in charge of the firm’s Pittsburgh office. “Michael’s addition to the firm helps to build out Spilman’s service offerings to our clients in the midstream natural gas industry.”

With the addition of Tarutis, Spilman’s Pittsburgh office has more than doubled in size since 2008. Prior to joining the firm, Tarutis practiced law in Colorado, New York and California. He also served as in-house general counsel for a number of energy and technology companies.

  1. Micheal, I am just now recovering from three years of surgeries and office visits for hip replacement. Over the last three years have had five hip surgeries either to install, remove or or battle two staph infections due to surgeries. I fifth and hopefully final surgery was done at USC and i am confident that is the last the other hip surgeries were done by Dr. Ahn in Los Alamitos. I have not been able to work most of that time due to Damage or recovery from multiple surgeries. So I was wondering if you or anyone you deal with would be willing to look to see if there’s any way of at least trying to get back lost wages, If not the thousands payed to the hospital for the infections that i got being in Los Alamitos Hospital. I hope all is well with you and yours. sincerely yours, Christopher Becktal
