Representatives from about 70 institutions of higher learning will visit Marshall University’s Huntington campus Wednesday, Oct. 3, to take part in the Marshall University College Fair for high school juniors and seniors from Cabell, Wayne and Lincoln counties.

The event will take place during College Application and Exploration Week, which is sponsored by the College Foundation of West Virginia and the Higher Education Policy Commission. It will run from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Cam Henderson Center and about 1,500 students are expected to attend. Each institution will have information available to hand out to the students.

“The students from the high schools will have the opportunity to talk with representatives from the colleges in which they are interested,” said Beth Wolfe, Marshall’s director of recruiting. “They will learn more about their options for education beyond high school.”

Sixteen colleges and programs from Marshall will be represented. Some of the other institutions taking part include Mountwest Community and Technical College, Ohio University, Penn State University, Radford University, the University of Alabama, the University of Charleston, Vanderbilt University and West Virginia University.
