Davis & Elkins College alumnus Christopher Young has been appointed assistant director of development and marketing at the College. In this capacity, he is responsible for securing support for the College from alumni and friends; providing assistance to the marketing, communications, development and alumni programs of the College; and overseeing other specific projects.
“I’m excited to continue being part of the D&E family,” Young says. “The last four years as a student have been a positive experience.”
Young began his work with the D&E Development Office with an office on the West Coast, where he will continue to cultivate relationships with alumni and friends in addition to his current duties.
A native of Cardross, Scotland, Young earned a Bachelor of Science degree in international marketing with a minor in finance in December 2013. During his college career, Young was a four-year member of the Senator Golf Team and served as captain for one and a half years.
Carol Schuler, vice president for development, notes that Young has been welcomed by alumni and recently represented D&E during the Snowshoe Foundation’s annual Golf Tournament. “Christopher is a wonderful addition to our team, and will help us broaden our reach to alumni and friends throughout the country,” Schuler says.
